GUMC Capital Campiagn
Dear Friends,
Earlier this summer, the Church Council approved the hiring of John Hewett of Hewett Consulting LLC to conduct a feasibility study to determine the viability of a GUMC capital campaign. Mr. Hewett and his team have completed their analysis, which is based on his confidential leadership interviews of 24 members and 46 online and paper survey questionnaires, which together represent 58 GUMC households. The Capital Campaign feasibility report, which was presented by Mr. Hewett to the Capital Campaign Committee on Tuesday evening, 9/5/17, summarizes key data collected from the interviewees and the questionnaires, and indicates a high level of interest and commitment among the congregation. Further, the report states that “GUMC can reasonably expect to raise $375,000 to $425,000 in a three-year campaign over and above current budget giving.”
In view of these positive feasibility study findings and Mr. Hewett’s recommendations, the committee is fully in favor of moving forward with the launch of the Capital Campaign this fall. We'll commission leaders of 11 teams on September 17th and move out to begin our campaign. We'll have a homecoming and ministry celebration on November 12th to celebrate all this church has done. We'll have our first fruits offering in early December. Exciting times are ahead, so please prayerfully plan to be part of this important initiative in the life of GUMC!
Blessings and peace, Pastor Dawn
